Handling a variety of issues in the commercial litigation arena, Sam Kennon advises financial institutions and other companies in resolving disputes and rectifying problems. Sam particularly enjoys helping small businesses avoid difficult situations and take advantage of opportunities.

Getting to know his clients’ organizations inside and out, Sam tailors legal strategies to best defend their interests, meet their business goals, and enable their workforces to stay compliant with state and federal regulatory requirements. With a constant aim to save clients’ money by keeping them out of litigation, Sam looks for practical, early solutions to any problem that arises. He places a priority on attentiveness and timely responsiveness to their questions and concerns. In addition, he remains engaged with clients and communicates frequently so they know that their business is always top of mind.

Previously, Sam worked as an associate at an Atlanta firm, where he gained experience in a wide range of areas including acquisitions, dispositions, and development of commercial real estate. In that capacity he represented lenders and borrowers in real property acquisitions and different types of financing. He draws on that background when advising community banks and other financial institutions in his current practice.

During law school, Sam served as a volunteer with the Athens Peer Court, a diversionary alternative to juvenile court. He was also a walk-on University of Georgia football player.

After Hours

Sam recently became interested in cooking. He now prepares regular Sunday night feasts for his wife and daughter, with an emphasis on Southern comfort food like fried chicken. Sam is also an avid golfer and a diehard fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs.
