Dawson B. Welsh

Dawson Welsh is an associate in the firm’s Tax + Wealth Planning practice group. He helps individuals, families and closely held businesses develop practical strategies for protecting assets, transferring wealth and positioning businesses for long-term success. His work includes developing estate-planning documents such as wills, trusts, financial powers of attorney and advance directives for health care, while also guiding businesses through entity formation and dissolution, governance matters and asset transfers.

Dawson also counsels clients on estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning, helping them coordinate personal wealth-transfer objectives with business organization and succession considerations.

Dawson earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law in 2025, graduating in the top 10% of his class. He also earned a Certificate in Advanced Legal Writing, Research, and Drafting and was active in the Business, Bankruptcy, and Tax Law Association.

Originally from Dalton, Georgia, Dawson enjoys board games, card games, and disc golf outside of the office. He is also an avid fan of Motorsports and the Star Wars franchise.
