Sam joined James Bates Brannan Groover LLP as an associate in the spring of 2023 as part of both the Commercial Litigation and Financial Institutions practice groups. Prior to joining James Bates, Sam gained experience in a wide range of areas including, acquisitions, dispositions, development of multi-family residential and commercial real estate, including operating hotels, and representation of lenders and borrowers in real property acquisition, development, and related financing, construction financing, and term financing.
Sam earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2020. Sam graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.A. in History, cum laude, in 2017. During law school, he served as a volunteer with the Athens Peer Court, diversionary alternative to juvenile court and was a University of Georgia football walk-on.

Sam and his wife currently reside in Watkinsville, Georgia with their daughter.
