Bringing more than 17 years of experience advising employers and institutions on legal risk, regulatory compliance, and complex problem-solving, Kristopher Stevens is a seasoned employment and organizational counsel with deep experience supporting institutional leadership, human resources, and operational leaders across the public and private sectors. His practice focuses on providing practical, solution-oriented legal guidance to small businesses, local government organizations, and banks, with an emphasis on employment law, workforce management and risk mitigation, and contracts.

Kris regularly provides legal support for core HR functions, including drafting and review of employee handbooks and workplace policies, advising on employee relations matters, conducting internal investigations, counseling leadership on compliance with federal and state employment laws, and training diverse groups on workplace policies. He also advises employers on severance agreements, employment contracts, and related transactional and risk-management issues, bringing clarity and strategic judgment to sensitive workforce decisions.

Before entering private practice, Kristopher served for more than a decade at the University of Georgia, where he held legal and leadership roles within the Equal Opportunity Office and the Office of Student Conduct. In those roles, he ensured institutional compliance with employment, civil rights, and disability laws; advised human resources and multiple levels of leadership; conducted hundreds of internal investigations into allegations of harassment, discrimination, and workplace misconduct; and helped revise and implement institutional policies and procedures. His work required close coordination with HR professionals, administrators, and other stakeholders in high-stakes and often high-visibility matters.

Earlier in his career, Kristopher served as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) officer in the United States Air Force, effectively serving as part of an in-house counsel team to Air Force installations and a joint military command. In that capacity, he advised leadership on administrative law, government contracts, ethics, and freedom of information matters, supported internal investigations, and provided direct legal assistance to service members and their families. His experience spans both domestic and international settings and includes advising mission-driven organizations operating under complex regulatory frameworks.

Kristopher is known for his ability to translate complex legal requirements into practical guidance for executives, public officials, HR professionals, and management teams. He brings a collaborative, service-oriented approach to client relationships and is valued for his judgment, communication skills, and commitment to helping organizations operate lawfully, effectively, and with confidence.
