John B. (Jack) Nichols











Jack maintains a varied legal practice consisting of commercial litigation, local government law, planning and zoning, and receivership work.  He represents banks, businesses, and individuals in an assortment of cases ranging from ownership disputes to employment discrimination.  He handles planning and zoning issues, advocating for his clients before planning and zoning boards and county and municipal associations.  Jack’s receivership practice involves working with business owners, financial institutions, and courts around the state to preserve and protect assets, overseeing the operations of ongoing businesses, managing real and personal property holdings, and liquidating assets for dissolved or dissolving entities. 

Prior to joining James-Bates-Brannan-Groover-LLP, Jack served in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps.  He also served in the Georgia Army National Guard. 

Originally from Fort Valley, Georgia, Jack and his family live in Macon.  Jack is an active member of Ingleside Baptist Church.  He has held numerous positions in the Rotary Club of Downtown Macon and is a past president of the club.
