Jessie Rankin joined James Bates Brannan Groover LLP in the winter of 2022. He practices tax and estate planning, and works with clients on business succession and preparation of wills and trusts. He also assists clients with general corporate matters and intellectual property ownership, including trademark registration, maintenance and transfer.
With his own family having run a successful family business for many years, Jessie takes great pride in helping families and their businesses implement estate planning solutions that are both sophisticated and practical. By combining his personal experience with his legal training, Jessie accomplishes his clients’ objectives, but more importantly, provides peace of mind with efficiency and excellence.
Jessie earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2022. During law school, he served as Executive Managing Editor of the Georgia Law Review, and also advised business owners and emerging entrepreneurs in the University of Georgia Business Law Clinic. Prior to attending law school, Jessie graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.A. in History, where he also played sousaphone and served as a drum major in the University of Georgia Redcoat Band.
After Hours
Jessie currently resides in Atlanta with his wife, Rachel. He enjoys spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, grilling, and exploring hiking trails in the North Georgia mountains. He is an avid supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs and is also an Eagle Scout.
