Heather was born in Lexington, Kentucky on June 11, 1978. She was admitted to the Texas Bar in June, 2005 and the Georgia Bar in January, 2006 and has practiced in Atlanta since that time. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin (B.S. Advertising, magna cum laude, and Business Foundations with high distinction, 1999) and graduated from the University of Texas School of Law (J.D., 2005) where she served as president of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honors Fraternity. Heather is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the State Bar of Texas and the National Association of Development Companies (NADCO).
Heather practices in the transactional area of law, with a primary focus in government-guaranteed lending (SBA 504, SBA 7(a) and USDA). She also has extensive experience in the areas of general corporate, business and real estate law, including all facets of the negotiation and documentation of mergers & acquisitions, corporate formations, employment and severance agreements, real property acquisition and sales, and commercial leases on behalf of landlords and tenants nationwide. Heather is an SBA 504 Designated Closing Attorney.
Heather currently acts as pro bono corporate counsel for Friendship Force International, Inc., a Georgia Non-Profit corporation.
Prior to attending law school, Heather directed a LASIK surgery center located in Birmingham, Alabama. As director, she played an integral part in the start-up, marketing, licensing and development of the center which quickly rose to the number two position in its market as it moved from a hospital-based center to a stand-alone surgery center.
