Biography

Sarah Young joined James-Bates-Brannan-Groover-LLP as an associate in Summer of 2020.

Sarah grew up in Texas and then Carrollton, Georgia. She earned her B.A. in Political Science from The University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, graduating in 2015. Sarah then moved to Macon, Georgia to attend Mercer University School of Law, where she received her Juris Doctor in 2018. While at Mercer Law, she competed nationally on three mock trial teams, served on the board of the Student Bar Association, served on the Mercer Advocacy Council board as Co-Chair of Mock Trial Tryouts, and was a member of the Association of Women Law Students.

Prior to joining James Bates, Sarah worked as an Assistant District Attorney in the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office. Prior to working as an ADA, Sarah was a Staff Attorney for the Honorable David L. Mincey, III, serving in the Superior Court of Bibb County, Macon Judicial Circuit.

Sarah currently serves her community by volunteering as pro bono counsel for the Street Grace Justice Project, representing victims of labor and sex trafficking in criminal record vacatur and restriction matters. Sarah and her fiancé, Mark, reside in Macon, Georgia with their Leonberger mix dog, Ruthie.
